We are planning a morning of activities for children at the fair. Some of the things happening on grounds include:

  • All American Lumberjack Show
  • MS. JAZEE - Balloonologist
  • Animal Barn tours
  • 4-H craft
  • Princeton Fire Department Smokehouse
  • ADA Cow milking
  • Open Class & Commercial Buildings
  • Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Department
  • Fair Coloring Contest
  • snack and more!

This will be a free flowing self-guided morning. We will provide a suggested order and list of activities when you arrive plus goody bags for each child. 4-H and FFA Ambassadors, Foster Grand Parents, Fair Board members and Princeton Women of Today will be at various stops to answer questions and help make your morning enjoyable.

Groups are welcome to stay beyond the allotted time and enjoy more of the fair including lunch at the food booths or Armbands ($15 ea.) at the Carnival from 12:30 – 4:30 pm and other fair activities such as the “Starlight Cupcake” Booth (a decorate your own cupcake for a cost of $3 ea or 6 for $9).

Space is limited. If our maximum is reached, Day Care groups are still welcome to come and take part, but supplies are limited on crafts and goody bags. Large Day Care groups are encouraged to split into smaller groups of 15 or less for a better experience.

In order to keep this a free activity, we’re trying to watch costs, so nametags will not be provided. Please have your group wear similar colored shirts or some other group identification.

Children ages 4-9 are also invited to take part in the Fair Coloring Contest. The coloring page can be downloaded and printed by clicking here. Completed coloring sheets must be turned into the Fair Office by 5 pm, Friday, August 12 to be entered. Prizes will be awarded for all participants and special prizes awarded for the winner in each age division!

To sign up for Day Care Day, please respond by July 20 so we can plan. A confirmation postcard will be sent about 2 weeks before fair with final details and this will serve as your admittance to the county fair.
