2008RANCH RODEO

Ranch Rodeos have exploded into the horse world. Not only is it a fun way to spend an afternoon, but it is universal appeal for both spectators and participants.

Ranch Rodeos are so appealing because no cowboy background is necessary to compete for horse or rider.  All that matters is that the rider can use "cow sense" in moving and controlling cattle. This keeps things exciting.

Teams of five riders work together in four events: Trailer Loading, Doctoring, Team Sorting, and Team Penning.

Enjoy the fun and competition.

EVENTS

1.)  TRAILER LOADING:

This event is  fast- paced and exciting! Four riders are on horseback and one rider is standing at the trailer, ready to to help loading a calf.  Once the calf is loaded one rider loads his or her horse in the trailer.  The person who loaded the calf and person who loaded the horse must close the trailer door (fully latched) and run to touch the bumper of the truck. Time is called. They have one minute thirty seconds to do this.  The other three riders must be on their horse when time is called.

2.)  DOCTORING

Four riders are on horseback and one team member who is the "vet" is standing in a designated spot with a can of shaving cream.  Within one minute thirty  second time limit, one rider needs to rope a calf and dally (neck catch only, one dally only) then the vet runs out and puts shaving cream on the calf and runs back to assigned spot. After 45 seconds Rider can get off their horse to rope calf or retrieve dropped rope. Does not have to be on horse when time is called.

3.) TEAM SORTING

This event, all five riders must sequentially sort out cattle and bring them over trash line. They can not cross back over line.  They have two minutes to sort cattle. Time is called after last calf crosses the line.

4.) TEAM PENNING

This event, all five riders work three designated calves out of herd and put them in a pen within one minute time limit.

FLAGGERS CALL IS FINAL!
